Morocco, March 2006

I travelled to Morocco in March of 2006, mainly to visit my childhood friend Peter who was teaching English in Rabat. What I found when I arrived was a culture that was firmly Muslim in ideals and tradition, with a colonial French flavor. I went to Morocco with Casablanca on my mind, but when I arrived, it was not the Humphrey Bogart world I had imagined. In my 10 days in country, we travelled to Marakesh on the aging French rail infrastructure, rented a car and drove the Atlas mountain range, spent the night in the Sahara, got lost in the Fes medina, and fell in love with the country. I hope to go back soon, and I know you will see why in these pictures.
