San Francisco, September 2005 and August 2006

I'm very lucky, in that the company I work for is based out of California, and chooses to hold conferences in gorgeous San Francisco! I've been to San Francisco twice for conferences, and few other times for work related meetings, and I never stop loving it. The Bay Bridge isn't just a bridge to me, it's a symbol to newly immigrated Americans of a fresh start at a new life. Much like the Statue of Liberty in New York and Ellis Island, the San Francisco Bay Bridge is more than a statue, processing plant, or a major piece of Interstate 101. I guess that's why every time I find myself in San Francisco or within an hour in any direction, I try to take a side trip to the city and take a moment to enjoy the chances I have. Sure, it's just a bridge, a symbol, tourist attraction, a major traffic artery... I can't explain it, it's just more than that, and I love photographing it. Maybe someday I'll capture the image that says it all.
